Cake Break: The Cupcake Bakehouse, Covent Garden

If, like us, you're a bit of a cupcake lover then a trip to The Cupcake Bakehouse in London's Covent Garden is the perfect place to get your fix.

We have been wanting to try some of these famous cupcakes for far too long so on our last visit to the Capital we made sure to squeeze in a quick stop.

Created by one of our fave bakers, Lorraine Pascale, this tiny shop delivers cute in abundance. Everything is girly and pink and there's a retro vibe going on with American diner high stools which face the window to an ever bustling Covent Garden.

There are plenty of flavours to choose from including traditional cupcakes and also couture designs. Apparently the secret to these beautiful cupcakes is a brush of light vanilla sugar syrup so we went straight for the traditional vanilla flavour to see if we could taste the difference.

And we were not disappointed. Light, fluffy, delicious topping, everything a cupcake should be and have. Definitely ranking highly in 'cupcake heaven'.

At £2.50 per cake they are a little more expensive than your average cake break but worth it if you're looking to spoil yourself or someone special ... but we recommend spoiling yourself!

The Cupcake Bakehouse in situated in Covent Garden, London and open Monday to Sunday.
